MESA Days State and National Championships
California state championship: May 4, 2019 at UCLA
National championship: June 19-22 at University of Arizona, Tucson
The MESA Arduino STEM Solutions Challenge is a part of MESA Days — yearly hands-on engineering competitions that are a core piece of MESA’s 45 years of success. The competitions are aligned with the California State Board of Education and Next Generation Science Standards.
This year’s challenge tasks students with implementing the Human-Centered Design approach to find a client in their community who has a need, and engineering a solution for this need using Arduino as the key component. Student teams participate in the full R&D experience by preparing a technical paper and academic display, defending their process and product before a panel of professionals and compete with teams from the other ten MESA USA states in performance.
Winning teams from preliminary and regional competitions move on the California championship on May 4, 2019 at UCLA.
California champs compete against other MESA states in the National Engineering Design Competition in Tucson, Arizona June 19-22, 2019.
